When Harley-Davidon set the date for their annual shareholders meeting in 2011, the ideal place to hold the event their own museum in Milwaukee. They were turned away at the door, as another group had already booked the site!
Badges technically have been ordered... though I haven't heard back yet so I can pay the man...
You only have just under a week left to get those answers back to us, so I know the numbers to order the badges...
Well you now only have a couple of weeks left to get the answers back in. I have had great feed back from those that have completed it and returned the answers.So if you are about to do it, apparently it is a great trip. Remember you have till the end of November to get the answers back to me. (Yes I allow for a couple days afterwards etc alowing for postal services. So have fun...
Okay we are now in process of starting to think about the organisation of the 3rd Southern Rider Escapade 2011. This year I can tell you it is going south, down through the Catlins and round to Milford Sound and zig zag our way back. Southern Rider is on the look out for authors to write about various topics including the obvious, motorcycling. We regular new articles for our members to read. The articles will be posted in either the forums or in your own blog, and members will be able to ask questions and or make comments on the artlicle or blog. This is not a job but a hobby and some fun for our members so we are on the look out for a motorcyclist that also enjoys writing, about his/her travels, someone that does the odd test ride and then do a great write up, some one that can even write up articles on the odd current affair that may effect motorists and in particular motorcyclists. You will become a member of the site and join in on the fun, and our growing community. This not just for one person but for whoever wants to become an author for the site. Just over 3 and bit weeks away for the cut off date so get those entry forms in. Those that are in Christchurch this is a good chance for a weekend away from the stress of all the shaking come along for a stress free weekend (let the organisers have all the stressing for the weekend). Some great prizes and fun to be had. For more info click here. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those in Christchurch. With the buildings already weakened from the original quake and ongoing aftershocks to be hit by this huge aftershock. This difference for this shock is that it was a lot closer to the CDB and alot shallower than the original quake. Again out thoughts and prayers are with you. Well the silly season is upon us yet again, and we at Southern Rider are wishing every one to stay safe on our roads. Watch out for the signs of tourists and the motorcyclists worst enemy "The dreaded Camper Van". Remember these simple rules of the Silly Season. "Every one is out to get you on the roads." and "even if the looked at you assume that they have not seen you."
 Just a reminder that due the the Earth quake in Christchurch we decided to extend the due by date till the 18th December 2010. So you only have a couple of weeks left to get those answers in. We already have quite a few returns and the feedback again has been awesome, and we are already thinking of next year. Thanks to all those that are doing the Escapade as it you that are keeping this site up and running. Well the Magpie Madness Rally held at Winchester is only a week away (yah). We will be there Friday and Saturday, So we will see you all there keep an eye out for the Southern Rider Banner and come over and say hi. There is a lot on during the weekend of the 19th to the 21st. The Monster Energy Super X, BMW 30th Year of the GS, Yamaha Kaikoura Coast Trail Ride, Ashburton Motorcycle Show, Ride Ride Otago BIKEFEST 2010, 2nd Southern Rider Escapade and the various other events. annoying popups or advertising banners. There is a growing community waiting for you and its a great way to make friends with the same interest as you. You get the use of all the tools available, from blogs, gallery, forum, PM, wiki, chat, and more.
Sign up is simple. (oh and the anti spam question to check you are human 3333) this has taken control of the spam on the boards so far. :-)
The more people that take part the better, it doesn't matter what type of bike you ride, from cruiser, sports, trail, adventure, and then we can organise some nice group rides and gatherings.
Well the Escapade is being done by those who entered it (78) and we hope you enjoyed it, so far the feed back has been as positive as last year which is great to hear. I guess
the next event is the M.A.T.E.S Rally in Gore on the 29
Oct - 1 Nov 2010. This rally is usually a good rally and a lot of fun to be had by all. Check the Events calendar regularly as it is being
updated all the time.

Due to the Earthquake and damage of roads and all that... We are extending the finishing date of Escapade 2010 till 18th of December
2010. That is an extra 2 weeks to complete the run and return the questions.
